With remote work becoming more common, sometimes we just want a change of scenery and inspiration. If you are in the northern NJ area, you will love this curated list of cafe’s you can have in your back pocket when you feel the urge to step out. You can also share the list with your network to for quick alignment on a spot for your next meeting. 

 

Elitist Cafe in South Orange – has a large space perfect for making it a meeting place for business or or catching up with friends. They business relocated to its current location from its first spot that was much smaller. They offer a variety of drinks and food items. There are some parking spots available in front of the establishment as well as street parking. 

Yeshi’s Juice in West Orange – this newly opened juice spot offers an entire menu of guilt free items ranging from freshly pressed juices, to smoothies as well as some Ethiopian favorites such as veggie combo for lunch. There is a municipal parking lot nearby. You will love the vibrant and cozy vibe here. 

Black Swan Espresso Newark, NJ –  This cozy spot is in Newark for quite some time. The location is a cozy space and fills up with so many customers. If you are looking for a nice place away from the hustle & bustle of Newark’s downtown life to enjoy some real good coffee or tea, check them out! The place smells great walking in and the vibe is chill. There are parking spaces along Prudential Dr., and Halsey St. 

Seymour’s Cafe Livingston, NJ – Known for their specialty breakfast items, including delicious fresh squeezed juices, blended smoothies. Seymour will make you wow with their fantastic presentation for breakfast. The self-service coffee is great because there’s an array of flavors from your standard vanilla and hazelnut to snickerdoodle and graham cracker. Who knew that breakfast could be this great. You don’t have to walk far to park, because they have their own parking spaces.

Red Eye Cafe Montclair, NJ – looking for a nice Sunday Brunch? Red Eye Cafe is the place to be.  The staff is consistently friendly. This location has a very relaxed, New York City punk vibe, they are also located in Montclair – a city with many talented budding artists and a lot to offer.   The food items are also very tasty, but the main headliner is the coffee. Parking options include  limited street parking. There is wheelchair accessibility at the location.  They also have an area outside in a courtyard next to the cafe if you prefer to dine outside.

The Bread Stand Maplewood, NJ – It’s a cozy little shop in the most unexpected side of town. Rustic decor and friendly staff. If you like croissants, they have a great assortment. The jalapeño and cheddar, the ham and cheese. Just awesome for the start of the day. They also have excellent lunch options that are flavorful Street parking is plentiful, feel free to park on the street directly across from the bakery or the streets alongside.

23 Skiddoo Cafe  , Bloomfield, NJ – If you’re looking for a great place to work out of in Essex County, this local cafe has plenty of seating inside and outside, and it offers lots of great local coffee and baked goods. This hipster, casual and classy cafe offers lots of great options from lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, matcha, seasonal options, and pour over coffee. They also offer growlers of local chai! The cafe offers free WiFi and luckily there’s lots of space to work. They have nearby street parking. It’s very cozy

Dolce Marie Verona, NJ – This cafe will make you feel like you are at your neighborhood spot, coffee is always on point, service is top notch, atmosphere is cozy, and the food is delicious. They have a parking lot and you don’t need to worry if you are running late for a meeting or to  come here during busy hours, you can park on the street. 


Jola Coffee North Caldwell, NJ – An oasis from a world that’s become automated and so fast paced. Jola hosts a peaceful atmosphere alongside incredible coffee. Everything they brew is weighed and crafted by hand on the spot and at the time of your order. They have a nice little seating area out front and parking in the back and WIFI is free.

Coffee Mill Roasters Millburn, NJ – This is a small boutique that sells good coffee in Millburn. Why, because they ground their own beans. It has its own Parking lot, and offers free WIFI access, perfect for working remotely. If you are near the area, this is a friendly place for bikers passing by.

Manhattan Bagel Roseland, NJ – Home for the best bagels in town! Service is always fast and friendly. The sandwich selections are unmatched and they have the very best coffee in the area by far. The establishment has many options for parking once you are in the vicinity. Worth every penny spent here.
